A NOTE ABOUT OUR POLLS:
We were frankly surprised by how predictive our online polls were in the end... we assumed that the results would be skewed because we don't follow a rigorous polling methodology and people self select into the polls. We were always careful to caveat that our results were biased towards engaged Encinitas residents (people who would tend to click on a call to action to vote in an online poll about local political issues). However, the fact that we used algorithmic Facebook and Google surfacing may have given us an edge that other so called "clicker" polls don't have. Our results were good enough that they can't be dismissed. We'll tune and refine our approach for the next election... but we are encouraged.
As for the report card: Encinitas Forward polls correctly predicted that Catherine would win big, that Tony Kranz and Tasha Boerner Horvath would win for City Council (with vote totals in that order), and that Measure T would fail. We missed on Tony Brandenburg; our last poll predicted that he would take the third Council seat instead of Mark Muir.
